“Christ is born! Glorify Him! Christ descends from the heavens, welcome Him! Christ is now on earth, O be jubilant! Sing to the Lord, the whole earth, and sing praises to Him with joy, O ye people, for He has been exalted!”

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As 2008 approaches and time passes, each of us will grow a year older. Will the New Year be a time of peace or turmoil? Will we be blessed with our hearts’ desires or will we be cursed with misfortune that will shadow our existence?
One thing is certain; 2008 will bring joy, as well as sorrow. It will depend on us and how we greet the moments of joy and face the times of sorrow. If we live each day in faith and belief in God, our joy will not turn into pride and we will not neglect those dearest to us; nor will our sorrow clothe us in despair or revenge.
God will protect us throughout the year and bless us with good health and peace; in our hearts, in our families, in our country and in our world.

*The Holy Liturgy will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Christmas Day.
We are all aware of the difficulties born by many of the members of our San Diego community as a result of the various wildfires.
The majority of the members of our San Diego community that were evacuated have been able to return to their homes. We thank God that they were spared from this great trial.
With brotherly love, I am appealing to all of the Romanians in our community to help the affected families, all donations being well received. Those of you who were spared are invited to come to church to offer prayers of thanksgiving to God for His protection, as well as to offer moral and material support to the families in need.
We look forward to seeing you in church this Sunday, October 28, 2007 The Holy Liturgy will begin at 12.00 p.m. when our church will organize, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel, a special collection to help the three families who lost their homes.
Those of you who are not in San Diego, or who are unable to come to church, can send donations in the name of the church: “The Elevation of the Holy Cross,” with a note in the memo section, “Special Collection 10-28-2007.” Donations can be mailed directly to the church at the following address:
